Hello.
I'm porting Ubuntu to my ARM smartphone (or Debian, I will see that will be
faster). It's just my hobby (I'm doing it just for fun). So, It will be
completely open-source OS with framebuffer (or wayland, I not decided yet -
all that I have now - console) and Window Manager written on Qt.
Applications will be written only in Qt and QML (no Java, I like when my
devices working fast) and will be integrated with OS and Window Manager
(like applications in MeeGo and some applications in Ubuntu Unity).
So, I'm not designer. I can't create a good interface (i think this may be
something like Unity (I'm love Unity) but Unity is not good idea for
smartphones with a 4'' screen, maybe on Tablets it will be good). If there
are interface designers, I'd love to hear your ideas.
Best regards,
Nick.
