Yes, that can be the reason, especially if you're on Windows.

You need to make sure that OpenSSL is properly installed and can be found by 
the default means of finding libraries on your system.

You don't need to recompile the precompiled versions of Qt. If you compiled it 
yourself, then you need to recompile.
