Found it.
 
I had to add the line
Q_DECLARE_METATYPE(CCmn_UIUpdateTimer::EUiActivityMode)
 
as well as the Q_ENUMS line.
 
I didn't read that one from the docs. For Q_ENUMS it says:
"This macro registers one or several enum types to the meta-object
system."
 
So why should I have to add the Q_DECLARE_METATYPE as well?
