[Qt-interest] HTML5 video support in Qt 4.8/QtWebKit 2.2

Howdy -

We'd love to use HTML5's video tags to embed video in our QtWebKit-powered desktop application. We tested support a few months ago and found it lacking. We'd hoped QtWebKit 2.2, which is in Qt 4.8 might make it work.

I recently got around to testing Qt 4.8 and while support on Mac seems to be better, support on Windows—at least in my investigation—was still lacking. Pointing the demo browser app at a page with HTML5 video crashed the browser.

I've found a handful of bugs and forum posts on this topic, but haven't really found anything "official"-sounding about support for video in QtWebKit 2.2. Should it be working? Is it known to be unsupported? If so, is there a timeframe for adding support?
