[Qt-mobility-feedback] Service Framework (out-of-process)

The toolkit is still in the design phase. A preliminary website can be found at www.commontk.org

Although it aims at medical imaging, we need a general framework upon which we can build our libraries and tools. One component of this framework will probably be a generic, cross-platform plug-in mechanism with a service oriented architecture allowing for inter-process communication of plug-ins. We hope to be able to build it on top of Qt.

What does your toolkit do?

I am not currently using the service framework, but I have taken an interest in it as well.

Subject: [Qt-mobility-feedback] Service Framework (out-of-process)

I work with an international team on the design and implementation of a new toolkit aimed at providing a unified set of basic features for use in medical imaging. We decided to base our work on QtCore and other Qt utility libraries.

We face some strict stability requirements and are looking for solutions facilitating cross-platform, inter-process communication between plug-ins. I found several hints on the net about a future out-of-process service framework inside QtMobility and was wondering if someone could share more information about it (is there already some source code publicly available, what is the timeline for the project, etc...). Thanks!
