[Qt-qml] QML Image Decoding Error

Hi

I have a Flex app which export some images (PNGs and JPGs).  The  
exported images open fine in Preview, Safari, Photoshop, Flash, etc  
etc.  But these same images won't load in my QML application.  When  
trying to load one I get the following:

Starting /Applications/Qt Creator.app/Contents/MacOS/QMLViewer /Users/ 
benmarinic/Desktop/qml29/start.qml
Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x89 0x50
file:///Users/benmarinic/Desktop/qml29/4CF8ED62-5B5F-ABFD-5E47-58D502C3AC7D.qml:8:4 
: QML Image: Error decoding: file:///Users/benmarinic/Desktop/qml29/symbian.jpg 
: Unable to read image data

If I then open symbian.jpg in Preview (Mac OSX) and then re-save it  
out again - the newly created file loads in my QML.

Am I missing something here?  Why the these file headers throwing QML  
off?
