Thanks for your effort!
One thing I find annoying in the current (grid) layouts for the widgets, 
is that it is basically impossible to align widgets that are in 
different containers (like in different group boxes). That is annoying, 
as such alignment is important for a professional look I think. If you 
get to layouting in grids, perhaps you could take this into account?
