[Qt4-preview-feedback] Qt 4.5 RC1 problems

I had a showstopper problem upgrading to Qt 4.5 RC1 from 4.4.2.

I'm using 32-bit Gentoo (with totally sane CFLAGS:  -O2 -march=native
- -pipe) and the packages built successfully.  KDM started up just fine.
However, upon logging into KDE 4.2, every single place that there was
text was totally screwed up.  Attached is a screenshot of Konsole
showing the behavior.  Note that this was *not* the behavior in KDM,
only upon logging in.

Using a new ~/.kde4 didn't help anything.  I did a search for every
package depending on qt-gui and rebuilt every single one (which
basically included every KDE package) to no avail.  Note: this also
included Quassel IRC.

Eventually, I downgraded my Qt packages to 4.4.2 and experienced even
more broken behavior -- KDM would no longer start successfully.  After
rebuilding every single package depending on qt-gui (again) everything
is fine now (but back on 4.4.2).

One last thing: trying to start Quassel resulted in failure.  I didn't
think to check console output; but upon rebuilding it again, it started
and works just fine.

I'm really not sure what's at work here...on my laptop, which runs
Kubuntu, swapping out my 4.4.2 packages for 4.5_rc1 worked quite fine
(although those packages were using applicable qt-copy patches, and the
Gentoo packages for 4.5 rc1 currently are not).
