I'm not against making better API for headerData.

There are lots of simple use cases for it too, such as showing a filesystem 
tree of directories and when you click one you see the contents of it in a 
different view. You might want to show only the directory names in the tree, 
and in the contents view you show the filename, last modified, size etc.
