+1 for that.
In my usecases i would really like to have different dll version names than jst
a qt4 dll.
Because binary compatibility sounds fine ... but is in reality not working.
See Maya as an example. If i do not use their version, it will crash
(leading to the situation that for 3dsmax we have a 4.7.2 build and for maya wie
have 4.5.3 build).
So if it is not working always ... why care ?
make a qt4.8 or qt4.7 and thats fine.
at least that would be a thing to start with qt5

qt5.1
qt5.2 ... wow great.
