You probably also want to check you're running with a memory split
that has another memory allocated to the GPU. Many examples won't run
unless you select the 128/128 memory split. This is easily changeable
in raspi-config, or indeed just copying the appropriate
./boot/armNNN_start.elf over /boot/start.elf.
