It all compiled on a clean ubuntu vm (with the packages in the README installed), so I merged to master.
It seems I'm at an impasse with OS X and CentOS compilation for now until someone else can help, so is there anything else in the script I can improve?
I'm not sure what I can do about the VMWare Fusion issue, so any suggestions are welcome.
/Kieran
