As we are commencing project in Sep 1st or 2nd week, we would like to know if Qt5 Beta would be released by then as mentioned in wiki http://qt-project.org/wiki/Qt5.0 by Aug?

Alpha is very old, from April.

Note that Beta is not released, it is still under development.

We will tell when the beta is out. Meanwhile you can monitor the situation e.g. from bugreports and the daily snapshots.
