Qget of google homepage on http and https works.
Qt quick 2 flickr demo works on mac.
Qt quick 1 & 2 flickr demos work on linux

For some reason the Qt quick 1 demo is the one installed to /usr/local/Qt-5.0.0/examples/declarative in a linux non developer build.
/usr/local/Qt-5.0.0/examples/qtdeclarative has only the calculator demo for Qt quick 2 (which btw is rotated 90 degrees clockwise unexpectedly)
