(5:01:41 PM) jaheikki3: Time to start Qt 5.2 release team meeting
(5:01:54 PM) jaheikki3: On agenda today:
(5:02:04 PM) jaheikki3: Qt 5.2 Beta1 release status & way forward
(5:02:12 PM) jaheikki3: Any additional items to agenda?
(5:02:29 PM) vladimirM [~vladimirM at 195.3.173.181] entered the room.
(5:02:57 PM) thiago_ [~thiago at kde/thiago] entered the room.
(5:03:17 PM) jaheikki3: feel free to add items later but lets start from beta1 release status
(5:04:08 PM) jaheikki3: At the moment all (know) needed issues are fixed, changes are merged and qt5.git is integrating
(5:05:09 PM) jaheikki3: So if qt5.git integrates smoothly we could have beta1 packages available tomorrow morning
(5:05:27 PM) jaheikki3: Any comments Iikka/Sergio?
(5:05:36 PM) sahumada: nop
(5:05:44 PM) iieklund_: jaheikki3: yes, from packaging side, everything is ready for beta
(5:06:12 PM) iieklund_: jaheikki3: just waiting for the ci
(5:06:21 PM) jaheikki3: Let's hope there isn't any suprises in the qt5.git integration!
(5:07:44 PM) jaheikki3: So I propose: If we have packages ready tomorrow, let's spent tomorrow to test packages & prepare releasing. And if nothing serious found during testing let's make beta1 release Wed 12:00 cet
(5:08:16 PM) kkoehne: jaheikki3: Sounds good to me.
(5:08:36 PM) iieklund_: jaheikki3: sounds good
(5:08:39 PM) sahumada: +1
(5:08:59 PM) kkoehne: jaheikki3: We already know that linux packages have an issue with libudev.so.0 not installed in a lot of distributions.
(5:09:18 PM) sahumada: *lot* ?
(5:09:19 PM) kkoehne: jaheikki3: Do we put that into known issues, or do we still want to remove the libudev-dev package from the build machines?
(5:10:03 PM) jaheikki3: I think we should put it as a known issue and remove it after beta
(5:10:07 PM) kkoehne: sahumada: Well, according to lsbappchecker it's not installed by default on 1 out of 74 distributions :)
(5:10:16 PM) kkoehne: sahumada: Though I wouldn't count on this being accurate.
(5:10:38 PM) sahumada: what about the proposed fix ? https://codereview.qt-project.org/68700
(5:10:49 PM) kkoehne: sahumada: Cause it also says it's not installed on Ubuntu 11.10, which would surprise me ...
(5:10:58 PM) jaheikki3: kakoehne: Is this something new or why we haven't seen this earlier, like in 5.1.1?
(5:11:34 PM) kkoehne: sahumada: That's only part of the fix. The next step would be to etiher pass -no-libudev to configure, or remove it fromt eh build machiens ...
(5:11:43 PM) kkoehne: jaheikki3: Mmh, let me check.
(5:12:17 PM) kkoehne: jaheikki3: It's a regression from 5.1.1
(5:12:32 PM) kkoehne: jaheikki3: Back then libQtWebkit didn't use libudev yet, I suppose.
(5:12:35 PM) sahumada: we need to ask the qtserialport whether this affects any features (by removing the libudev-dev package or passing -no-libudev)
(5:13:02 PM) sahumada: qtserialport team*
(5:13:39 PM) iieklund_: sahumada: kakohene: jaheikki3: in any case, let's do the possible changes for build machines after beta
(5:13:54 PM) sahumada: +1
(5:13:56 PM) kkoehne: sahumada, iieklund_: Interestingly libQt5SerialPort.so in 5.1.1 didn't depend on it either.
(5:13:58 PM) jaheikki3: +1
(5:14:44 PM) kkoehne: ok
(5:14:45 PM) jaheikki3: So could we agree to proceed this as a known issue with beta and fix it before RC?
(5:14:54 PM) kkoehne: sure
(5:15:03 PM) sahumada: +1
(5:15:15 PM) jaheikki3: kkoehne: Please add this to known issues page
(5:15:45 PM) kkoehne: jaheikki3: You have a link?
(5:16:37 PM) jaheikki3: kakoehne: http://qt-project.org/wiki/Qt520-beta1-KnownIssues
(5:17:07 PM) jaheikki3: It seems we have a plan for 5.2 beta1, let's hope integration succeed
(5:17:37 PM) jaheikki3: Is there something else to discuss now?
(5:18:52 PM) jaheikki3: At least next meeting: Do we need a meeting in next week?
(5:22:02 PM) jaheikki3: I think we can skip the next week and check status next time 4.11.2013 16:00 CET, OK?
(5:22:11 PM) iieklund_: +1
(5:24:05 PM) jaheikki3: OK, I think that was all at this time. Thanks for everyone!
