[17:02:42] <jaheikki3> Time to start qt release team meeting
[17:02:56] <jaheikki3> On agenda today:
[17:03:09] <jaheikki3> Qt5.5 beta status
[17:03:27] <jaheikki3> Qt5.4.2 Status
[17:03:35] <jaheikki3> Qt 4.8.7 sta
[17:03:37] <jaheikki3> tus
[17:03:52] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:05:45] <jaheikki3> Lets start from Qt5.5 status:
[17:06:03] <jaheikki3> Couple of snapshots produced after the beta
[17:06:35] <jaheikki3> String freeze done, branching from '5.5' to '5.5.0' ongoing
[17:07:33] <jaheikki3> Quite good status with RC blocker issues in https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-44654
[17:08:03] <jaheikki3> So we are proceeding as planned towards RC
[17:08:53] <jaheikki3> At the moment some problems to integrate latest changes in qt5.git, see https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/112657/
[17:09:32] <jaheikki3> Also final merges from 5.4 & 5.4.2 still missing
[17:10:14] <jaheikki3> But as wrote, progressing pretty much as planned & we are targetting to put RC out 11.6
[17:10:22] <jaheikki3> Any comments / questions?
[17:11:19] <thiago> should be ok to get the up-merges then
[17:13:28] <jaheikki3> Thiago: I think lqi is waiting for freezing the qt5.4.2 content. Merge from 5.4.2 to 5.4 done once, few changes added to 5.4.2 after that
[17:14:13] <jaheikki3> so lets continue with qt5.4.2 status then:
[17:14:45] <jaheikki3> couple of blockers reported & fixed since last meeting
[17:15:23] <jaheikki3> Only open item related to 5.4.2 release is if we should take https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/113025/ still in or not
[17:15:55] <jaheikki3> Ok, last fixes aren't yet integrated in qt5.git either
[17:17:39] <thiago> after reading the comments in that, I agree with a release notes
[17:18:13] <thiago> provided that branch 5.4.2 doesn't have to move again
[17:18:19] <thiago> if it does, please apply the patch
[17:18:59] <jaheikki3> Agree
[17:20:31] <thiago> it's ugly, but stephen is right: our level of support for cmake is poor
[17:21:30] <jaheikki3> Ok, but let's proceed with that plan
[17:22:29] <jaheikki3> Let's see if we can get packages ready so that we can still release during this week or then at the beginning of next one
[17:22:54] <jaheikki3> It depends how CI & packaging system behaves...
[17:23:18] <jaheikki3> Then Qt 4.8.7 status:
[17:24:36] <jaheikki3> Qt 4.8.7 finally released today, Hurraa!
[17:25:10] <thiago> yay!
[17:26:25] <jaheikki3> Unfortunately VS2013 package wasn't be ready early enough but Akseli continues working with it & if/when succeed it will updated in the release
[17:27:23] <jaheikki3> Any comments/questions?
[17:29:02] <divide> to clarify regarding Qt 5.4.2: it's ready be released as-is, or is more patching needed ?
[17:29:36] <thiago> it's ready, but missing the qt5.git integration
[17:29:44] <divide> ok
[17:29:45] <thiago> the submodules are right, but not the top-level
[17:30:15] <divide> so we could expect a release is the next couple days ?
[17:30:20] <divide> in-
[17:31:12] <jaheikki3> divide: Yes, depends on how qt5.git integration succeed & we managed to create packages. Release at the end of this week or beginning of next one
[17:31:35] <divide> ok, thanks
[17:32:11] <jaheikki3> I think it was all at this time. I think we can skip next week's meeting & have new one 9.6.2015 at this same time to decide if we are ready for 5.5 RC or not. Ok for everyone?
[17:33:05] <thiago> ok
[17:33:55] <jaheikki3> Lets then end this meeting now. Thanks for your participation, bye!
