[Releasing] Release blocker for 5.8.0

Hi

It has just come to my attention that 5.8.0 has been made unpackageble
by linux distributions. I do think this makes 5.8.0 still unfit for
release.

Unfortunately, the relevant subsystem maintainer has just said "meh. I
don't care", so I'm now trying to appeal to the rest of the world that
we either get a revert, or actually some kind of fix.

The issue in question is

So I'm hoping that the Qt project still wants to be a opensource
community friendly project.

and yes. we strip the binaries.
