Most probably not but we are still trying [17:10:15] Any comments or questions? [17:11:35] there are still things to add [17:11:53] we're not in freeze yet, are we? [17:12:11] thiago: what do you mean? [17:13:16] there are still changes in the 5.10.0 branch [17:13:34] well, one of them is the changelog [17:13:42] so I guess we're waiting for a couple rounds of integgration [17:14:10] Yes, most of those open changes are related to merge from 5.9.3 [17:14:38] So yes, those needs to be in before we can create RC packages [17:14:43] Do we want https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/207231/ in 5.10.0 or should it moved to dev? [17:14:43] carewolf: [qt/qtbase/5.10] Add missing dead key symbols from Matt Whitlock - https://codereview.qt-project.org/207231 (NEW) [17:15:00] it fixes input of some greek and russian characters [17:15:08] And of course we need to get at least one qt5.git integration through [17:15:54] carewolf: it is just p2 so I think it can wait 5.10.1 [17:15:59] carewolf: 5.10.1 [17:16:05] it adds new enum values [17:16:48] carewolf: if it can't be taken in 5.10.1 then it should go 'dev' instead [17:17:35] but no 5.10.0 stuff anymotre [17:17:53] ok [17:18:55] I think it was all at this time. Let's end this meeting now & have new one Tue 28th Nov as planned [17:19:03] webengine is still blocking as we have a success-rate only slightly better than qtbase, but with a much longer turn-around time. Some of the patches that needs to into 5.10.0RC has failed to integrate for over 2 weeks [17:19:44] carewolf: yeah, we know :( Let's hope ci will finally behave [17:19:51] if the CI doesn't get better soon, it could easily take two week more [17:20:16] carewolf: if it's flakyness in the CI, make sure you restage exactly the same changes after the failure for the next round. then it'll pick up where it failed before and not recompile from scratch [17:20:56] it is all kinds of issues, half have been failing to allocate a machine or timeouts [17:20:56] ?? [17:21:02] Some new magic? [17:21:10] frkleint: no, that has been there for some time [17:21:27] but yes, with the 5.10.0 staging hopefully CI only failures can just be rerun [17:21:54] if you restage the same changes, you'll get the same content, and COIN will recognise that and reuse artifacts and results that have been created in the last round [17:22:24] ie. everything that's succeeded is being re-used [17:25:06] Thanks for your participation, bye! [17:03:58] Ok, let's browse through the status [17:04:20] RC released yesterday, testing ongoing [17:04:50] Most platforms already tested & unfortunately few release blockers reported [17:05:31] Luckily we have fixes for all new blockers under integration already [17:06:27] Target is to create RC2 as soon as possible, test it and put the final out [17:07:06] rc2 being the final? [17:07:06] Let's see if we can do all needed during this week or will the final release be postponed to next week [17:07:13] thiago: yes [17:07:20] it's a little difficult right now if the Stage button is even missing... [17:07:34] thiago: ? [17:07:50] thiago: jaheikki3: I think it's only missing for some branches [17:07:53] well, I tried staging stuff yesterday and the button was off [17:08:03] I can stage for 5.10.0 [17:08:03] it was "dev" [17:08:08] I didn't check other branches [17:08:17] if 5.10.0 is there, good [17:08:35] Yeah, we can stage stuff in 5.10.0 [17:08:55] And all needed fixes are already staged, integration is ongoing [17:09:03] thiago: not sure what's broken in dev. fregl might know. [17:09:34] now we just need to cross fingers that we managed to stabilize COIN during the day :) [17:10:04] how long do we wait for feedback? [17:10:45] thiago: Ossi blocked "dev" in qtbase yesterday since patches had no change going in (the domain issue) [17:11:07] that was fixed before he blocked [17:11:24] the block was useless [17:11:24] thiago: that didn't work somehow as far as I understand [17:11:33] but I'm just the messenger [17:11:44] I brought the domain back so we could integrate stuff [17:11:45] thiago: there has been several betas already so I don't think we need to wait feedback from rc that long; it is the idea behind this new system. [17:11:56] thiago: not completely apparently [17:11:57] jaheikki3: sure, but how long? [17:12:47] at least we finally understood what seems to be the issue with Coin, so it should work now (after manual cleanup) we still don't have a proper fix in place. we ended up with duplicate mac addresses, which explains all the connection issues. [17:13:23] I communicated with RC1 that we are planning to get final out at the end of November so I think we don't need to wait more than day or two. That same time is needed for us to execute full test round [17:13:39] thiago: ^^ [17:13:58] this week is the end of November [17:14:17] so unless we plan on getting the final out tomorrow or the day after, we miss that deadline [17:14:44] I think we need at least one week between RC1 and final packaging [17:15:03] I'm seeing people in #qt try to build the RC [17:15:08] their feedback may be important [17:15:24] Do you have a link to the RC blocker list? [17:15:33] so far, only one qtwebengine build failure and I don't think it was an RC issue [17:15:52] The-Compiler: search JIRA for P1s with Fix for 5.10.0 [17:16:07] I probably won't have the time to build it, but I'll test the binary later today FWIW [17:16:37] https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=18957 is the blocker list [17:17:48] thiago: Yes, that's true. And because we need that RC2 we can't keep the original schedule [17:18:28] -*- thiago successfully built on mac yesterday [17:19:36] So I think we could have go/no-go meeting for Qt 5.10.0 next tue and target to get Qt 5.10.0 out 7.12 (6.12 is Indepence day in Finland) [17:20:40] Any comments or questions? [17:22:24] looks good to me [17:22:57] Great, let's end the meeting now & have new one next Tue [17:23:11] Thanks for your participation, bye! [17:23:19] bye [17:23:37] byer [17:23:43] bye From jani.heikkinen at qt.io Wed Nov 29 08:17:31 2017 From: jani.heikkinen at qt.io (Jani Heikkinen) Date: Wed, 29 Nov 2017 07:17:31 +0000 Subject: [Releasing] Qt 5.11 initial schedule In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Hi all, Now when Qt 5.10.0 is in its final steps it is time to start scheduling Qt 5.11. As usual we need to get it out before summer holiday period so let's target to get it out at the end of May as usual.
