Meeting minutes from Qt Release Team meeting 6th February 2018
Qt 5.10.1:
- First snapshot tested. Seems to be quite good already now
- Branching finalized & finalizing release content ongoing
- Few issues open in release blocker list, see https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19047
* We should have fixes for most of those available already
- Changes file creation still ongoing, see https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/q/message:%22Add+changes+file+for+Qt+5.10.1%22,n,z
- Target to create final packages during this week
* Only RTA will be executed & if all OK we will put release out at the end of this week or beginning of next one
Qt 5.11:
- Branching from 'dev' to '5.11' finalized and FF in effect now
* qtbase merge still under integration, see https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/219162/
- When last merge is in we will start qt5.git integration in '5.11' and when it succeed we will start creating needed Alpha packages
* As usual Alpha will be src delivery only but most probably we will publish "unofficial" binary snapshot based on Alpha content as well
- Target is to get Alpha release out as soon as possible
- API review to be started immediately after qtbase merge is in

[17:04:05] <jaheikki3> - First snapshot tested. Seems to be quite good already now
[17:04:14] <jaheikki3> Branching finalized & finalizing release content ongoing
[17:04:28] <jaheikki3> Few issues open in release blocker list, see https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19047

[17:05:45] <jaheikki3> Target to create final packages during this week (after all blockers have a fix in) , run RTA & if all still ok put the release out
[17:06:22] <jaheikki3> Let's see if we can get it out during this week. If not then at the beginning of next one
[17:06:31] <jaheikki3> Any comments or questions?
[17:06:37] <thiago> looks good
[17:06:48] <carewolf> sounds good
[17:07:19] <frkleint> urgs, blocker list does not look good
[17:07:58] <jaheikki3> frkleint: yeah. But as I said most of open ones should have a fix already available
[17:08:49] <jaheikki3> Ok, that's all about 5.10.1 at this time
[17:08:54] <jaheikki3> Then Qt 5.11 status
[17:09:16] <jaheikki3> Branching from 'dev' to '5.11' finalized and FF in effect now
[17:09:33] <jaheikki3> Last merge under integration (qtbase)
[17:09:51] <jaheikki3> After it is in we will do new qt5.git integration
[17:10:06] <jaheikki3> And then we should have Alpha content in place
[17:10:49] <jaheikki3> We will create alpha packages & run RTA for those. As usual Alpha will be src delivery only
[17:11:11] <jaheikki3> But target is to publish "unofficial" binary snapshot based on Alpha content as well
[17:12:23] <jaheikki3> And target is to release Alpha as soon as possible, let's see how long it will take at this time to get qt5.git integration through. But hoping we can get alpha out earlier than planned
[17:12:43] <thiago> I don t see the branching done
[17:12:44] <thiago> it can't be

[17:13:28] <carewolf> thiago: they do it without gerrit
[17:13:31] <jaheikki3> only qtbase merge wasn't direct one. It is under integration atm
[17:13:40] <jaheikki3> see https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/219162/
[17:13:41] <qt_gerrit> jaheikki3: [qt/qtbase/5.11] Merge remote-tracking branch 'origin/dev' into 5.11 from Liang Qi - https://codereview.qt-project.org/219162 (NEW)

[17:16:08] <jaheikki3> that was pretty much all about 5.11 status at the moment. Any other comments or questions?

[17:17:06] <thiago> yeah
