Hi!

Branching from '5.9' -> '5.9.7' is now ready. From now on all changes targeted to Qt 5.9.7 release must be done in '5.9.7' and '5.9' is for Qt 5.9.8.
And as usual no any nice-to-have's in '5.9.7' anymore!

We have soft branched '5.9.7' from '5.9' today. Final downmerge from '5.9' to '5.9.7' will happen Mon 1.10.2018. So there should be enough time to finalize ongoing changes in '5.9' and start using '5.9.7' for new changes targeted to Qt 5.9.7 release.

Our target is to get Qt 5.9.7 release out as soon as possible. Hoping that can happen during week 41.

Qt 5.12 status:
- We should have beta1 content in place
- Unfortunately exporting beta1 content from ci system fails at the moment
   * There seems to be a real issue in WE, fix here: https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/241667/
--> new qt5.git integration is needed after the fix is in
- Target is still to get the beta1 release out during this week & continue to publish beta2 etc regularly after that until we are ready for RC

Qt 5.9.7:
- Branching from '5.9' -> '5.9.7' finalized
- Creating Initial changes files will start soon
- First snapshot for RTA already created and testing ongoing

   * Several 3rd party components to be checked for security updates
   * One real issue (QTBUG-68156) in the list; agreed it won't block the release (nothing new in 5.9.7 and workaround exists)

You can find Qt 5.12 beta1 under 'Preview' node from Online installer. Please take a tour & start testing Qt 5.12 now. As earlier we will release new beta releases regularly until we are ready for final Qt 5.12 release. It is really important to recognize all blockers for the final release now so please make sure all release blockers can be found from RC blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19961).

We have published Qt 5.12 beta2 today. As earlier you can get it via online installer. Delta to beta1 attached.

Please test the packages now & report all findings to Jira. Also make sure all release blockers can be found from release blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19961). It is really time to test the packages now; plan is to release Qt 5.12.0 final at the end of November.

- Target is to start branching from 5.12 -> 5.12.0 during next week,  get RC out 15.11.2018 (latest) and final at the end of November

- qt5.git integration is ongoing. When it is integrated we will start creating release packages
- Target is to get release out as soon as possible; let's see if that can happen already during this week or not

We have released Qt 5.12.0 beta3 today. As earlier you can get it via online installer. Delta to beta2 attached.

With beta3 we will publish MSVC2017 32bit prebuilt binaries as well as 64bit Android ones. So please check those packages as well to see if those are working as expected.
MSVC2015 32bit packages aren't delivered anymore.

And as usual please make sure you will report all findings in Jira. Please make sure all Qt 5.12.0 release blockers are visible in release blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19961)

Hi,

We have soft branched '5.12.0' from '5.12'. Please start using '5.12.0' for new changes targeted to Qt 5.12.0 release. Final downmerge from '5.12' to '5.12.0' will happen Mon 29th October so there should be enough time to finalize ongoing changes in '5.12' and start using '5.12.0'.
Target is to release Qt 5.12.0 RC mid November so it is time to fix remaining blockers from blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19961)

Hi,

Final downmerge is now completed in every submodule. If there is some open changes in '5.12' which needs to be in Qt 5.12.0 you need to retarget those in '5.12.0' instead.

And staging in '5.12.0' is also restricted to release team only. Please do not try to put any nice-to-haves in '5.12.0' anymore! I (/we) will continuously monitor changes having '+2' and stage clear ones in. But if we think change isn't critical enough for Qt 5.12.0 anymore we well ask more information instead.

Final downmerge from '5.12' to '5.12.0' is mostly done; only qtbase and qtdeclarative is still ongoing. So from now on all changes targeted to Qt 5.12.0 release needs to be done in '5.12.0' and '5.12' is for Qt 5.12.1 release.

Qt 5.12 status:
- Beta3 released last Thu
- Branching from '5.12' -> '5.12.0' completed
