Meeting minutes from Qt Release Team meeting 9th April 2019

 Qt 5.13 status:
- Unfortunately no beta2 packages yet, couple of issues still without a fix in blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=20729)
   * Fixes are available but not in yet
- Hoping we can get the fixes in soon & get the beta2 out still during this week
- String freeze will be in effect wed 10th April.

Qt 5.12.3:
- Some changes files still under work, see https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/q/message:%22Add+changes+file+for+Qt+5.12.3%22,n,z
   * Please finalize those now
- All issues from blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=20730) fixed -> we should be able to create final release packages when remaining changes files are in
- New snapshot already created & testing ongoing
--> It should be possible to get the release out during this week if nothing serious found during testing & if all changes files are in early enough

Qt 5.9.8:
- It seems we have release content in place
- qt5.git integration ongoing. When ready we will create final packages for Qt 5.9.8 release
- We will release those packages as Qt 5.9.8 if nothing serious found from RTA round.

[17:00:20] <lars> pong
[17:00:54] <akseli> jaheikki3: pong
[17:01:19] <jaheikki3> Time to start qt release team meeting
[17:01:21] <thiago> jaheikki3: pong
[17:01:25] <jaheikki3> On agenda today:
[17:01:33] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.13 status
[17:01:37] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.12.3 status
[17:01:42] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.9.8 status
[17:01:50] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:02:54] <jaheikki3> Let's start from Qt 5.13 status
[17:03:15] <jaheikki3> Unfortunately no beta2 packages yet
[17:03:42] <jaheikki3> There is couple of issues still without a fix in blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=20729)
[17:03:57] <jaheikki3> Fixes are available but not in yet
[17:04:34] <jaheikki3> Hoping those will integrate now & we can start creating beta2 packages soon
[17:04:54] <jaheikki3> Target is to get beta2 out still during this week
[17:05:11] <jaheikki3> String freeze will be in effect tomorrow
[17:05:29] <jaheikki3> That's all about 5.13 status at this time. Any comments or questions?
[17:06:08] <thiago> reading the blocker
[17:06:23] <frkleint> Will it have WebEngine on Windows?
[17:06:43] <carewolf> that got in
[17:07:00] <jaheikki3> frkleint: Yes, fixes for that should be in
[17:07:00] <frkleint> aha
[17:07:02] <thiago> why is QtOpcUa blocking the release, if it's not in qt5.git?
[17:07:45] <jaheikki3> thiago: it is in tqtc-qt5.git from where we are doing official release packages
[17:08:09] <jaheikki3> that way we can create lgpl & enterprise packages at same build
[17:09:31] <thiago> ok, so it shouldn't block the release
[17:09:36] <thiago> drop that task
[17:10:08] <thiago> or just add it to qt5.git. I don't see why the sets should be different
[17:11:27] <jaheikki3> thiago: it isn't only issue which is open. There is also QTBUG-74912 which is blocking us to do qt5.git integration
[17:11:28] <qt_gerrit> thiago: tst_QDebugMessageService::retrieveDebugOutput fails during qt5.git integration in '5.13' and '5.12.3' - https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-74912 (In Progress)
[17:11:35] <thiago> yes, I know
[17:13:37] <jaheikki3> And if I recall correctly there were some reason why we can't add those automation related submodules in qt5.git. lars do you have any comments?
[17:14:37] <lars> jaheikki3: no idea. mainly packaging related?
[17:15:35] <jaheikki3> ok, I'll check that later.
[17:15:39] <lars> jaheikki3: thanks
[17:15:59] <jaheikki3> That was all about 5.13 at this time
[17:16:06] <jaheikki3> Then Qt 5.12.3 status
[17:16:34] <jaheikki3> Some changes files are still under work, see https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/q/message:%22Add+changes+file+for+Qt+5.12.3%22,n,z
[17:16:41] <jaheikki3> Please finalize those now
[17:17:08] <jaheikki3> All issues from blocker list should have a fix in
[17:17:23] <jaheikki3> -> we should be able to create final release packages when remaining changes files are in
[17:17:51] <jaheikki3> New snapshot also created & testing ongoing
[17:18:23] <jaheikki3> --> It should be possible to get the release out during this week as planned if nothing serious found during testing & if we can finally get all changes files in
[17:18:51] <jaheikki3> That's all about 5.12.3 status at this time. Any comments or questions?
[17:20:45] <jaheikki3> Ok, then Qt 5.9.8 status
[17:20:56] <jaheikki3> It seems we have release content in place
[17:21:09] <jaheikki3> qt5.git integration ongoing. When ready we will create final packages for Qt 5.9.8 release
[17:21:24] <jaheikki3> We will release those packages as Qt 5.9.8 if nothing serious found from RTA round
[17:21:44] <jaheikki3> Let's see if that can happen already this week or then at the beginning of next one
[17:21:59] <jaheikki3> Any comments or questions?
[17:23:21] <thiago> not from me
[17:23:23] <jaheikki3> Ok, this was all at this time
[17:23:52] <jaheikki3> Let's end this meeting now & have new one tue 16th April as planned
[17:24:07] <jaheikki3> Thanks for your participation, bye!
[17:24:14] <frkleint> bye
[17:27:02] -*- thiago won't be able to join, most likely
