[17:01:31] <thiago> jaheikki3: pong
[17:01:46] <akseli> jaheikki3: pong
[17:02:34] <carewolf> jaheikki3: pon
[17:02:43] <jaheikki3> Time to start qt release team meeting
[17:02:53] <jaheikki3> on agenda today:
[17:03:03] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.15.0 status
[17:03:15] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0.0 initial schedule
[17:03:26] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:05:08] <jaheikki3> Let's start from Qt 5.15.0 status:
[17:05:30] <jaheikki3> rc released ~ a week ago
[17:05:42] <jaheikki3> rc2 released today
[17:06:01] <jaheikki3> It contains only few fixes to the top of rc
[17:06:16] <thiago> nothing reported in the last week?
[17:06:52] <jaheikki3> thiago: nothing that alarming & especially no more blockers to the blocker list
[17:07:27] <thiago> so likely to be last
[17:07:35] <jaheikki3> There is still few item in pipe: 2 already in '5.15.0' and 2 other ones waiting for approval/rejection from the release
[17:07:46] <jaheikki3> Yeah
[17:07:49] <thiago> can I ask for early, final packages (without "-rc2" in the tarball)?
[17:08:21] <jaheikki3> thiago: sure, I was planning to create final packages really soon.
[17:08:41] <jaheikki3> I propose that we freeze final content tomorrow & start creating final packages
[17:09:08] <jaheikki3> That way we will get final packages for filal verification latest at the end of this week
[17:09:36] <jaheikki3> That way we can keep the release schedule & release Qt 5.15.0 tue 19th may as planned
[17:10:15] <jaheikki3> That's all at this time. Any objections?
[17:10:19] <FrederikGladhorn> Nice, I'm looking forward to testing the rc :) So far 5.15 has been good here.
[17:10:55] <thiago> not from me
[17:11:14] <thiago> my own testing on 5.15 is fine
[17:11:36] <thiago> I haven't tried rebuilding the distro yet. That usually means a patch or two, but nothing large or showstopping.
[17:12:00] <jaheikki3> ok, great!
[17:12:28] <jaheikki3> So that will be the plan for Qt 5.15.0 final then
[17:12:59] <jaheikki3> Then Qt 6.0.0 initial schedule
[17:13:31] <jaheikki3> I sent a proposal to dev ml couple of weeks ago: https://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2020-April/039382.html
[17:13:51] <jaheikki3> No objections there so Qt 6.0.0 initial schedule will be:
[17:14:16] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0.0 Structure and platform freeze 30.6.2020
[17:14:22] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0 Feature freeze 31.8.2020
[17:14:27] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0 Alpha 14.9.2020
[17:14:34] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0 Beta 1 1.10..2020
[17:14:38] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0.0 RC 17.11.2020
[17:14:43] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0.0 Final 1.12.2020
[17:15:18] <carewolf> what does stucture and platform freeze mean here?
[17:15:22] <jaheikki3> Details and criterias for that new 'Structure and platform freeze' will be agreed in ML later
[17:16:19] <jaheikki3> but idea is to make sure all bigger changes should be ready early enough so that it is possible to take those in the use before FF
[17:16:38] <carewolf> seems rather ambitious, but I see the point
[17:17:18] <jaheikki3> I know alex is preparing proposal for that 'gate' & It should be sent to ML soon
[17:17:36] <jaheikki3> So let's discuss & agree details there
[17:17:43] <carewolf> ok
[17:18:14] <jaheikki3> Ok, this was all about Qt 6 schedule at this time. Any more comments or questions?
[17:20:15] <jaheikki3> I think we don't need to have meeting next week if we managed to keep the plan & get qt 5.15.0 out
[17:20:34] <thiago> agreed
[17:21:20] <jaheikki3> So let's end this meeting now & put Qt 5.15.0 Out :D
[17:21:26] <carewolf> great
[17:21:29] <jaheikki3> Thanks for your participation, bye!
[17:21:48] <ankokko_> thanks, bye
