[17:01:11] <thiago> jaheikki3: pong
[17:01:44] <jaheikki3> Time to start qt release team meeting
[17:01:50] <carewolf> pong
[17:01:52] <jaheikki3> on agenda today:
[17:01:57] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0 status
[17:02:06] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.15.2 status
[17:02:12] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.12.10 status
[17:02:20] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:04:26] <jaheikki3> Ok, let's start from Qt 6.0 status
[17:04:42] <jaheikki3> Alpha released last week
[17:04:59] <jaheikki3> and update published at the beginning of this week
[17:05:16] <jaheikki3> API review ongoing, see https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-86467 and https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-86400
[17:05:30] <jaheikki3> It seems to proceed quite well now
[17:05:49] <jaheikki3> Beta1 preparations started
[17:06:02] <jaheikki3> All known beta1 blockers should be fixed in https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qt5/+/317139/1
[17:06:27] <carewolf> great
[17:06:28] <jaheikki3> Target is to publish Beta1 based on https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qt5/+/317139/1 later this week if no new surprises found
[17:06:35] <thiago> the sole blocker is the API review
[17:07:26] <jaheikki3> thiago: we have discussed about it and common consensus is that we shouldn't block beta1 because of ongoing API review
[17:08:31] <thiago> ok
[17:08:44] <jaheikki3> API review is already so good state that we should be able to move to beta phase already now even it is ongoing
[17:09:36] <jaheikki3> But it was all about Qt6 status at this time. Any more comments or questions?
[17:11:11] <jaheikki3> Then Qt 5.15.2 status
[17:11:23] <jaheikki3> Release preparations started
[17:11:33] <carewolf> what is the date?
[17:11:53] <jaheikki3> Target is to get Qt 5.15.2 out at the beginning of November
[17:12:18] <carewolf> great
[17:12:30] <jaheikki3> So I would say let's target to get it out 3rd November
[17:12:51] <carewolf> good by me
[17:13:08] <jaheikki3> First export is already done and target is to create first snapshot for testing during this week
[17:13:47] <jaheikki3> But that's pretty much all about Qt 5.15.2 at this time
[17:14:04] <jaheikki3> Any comments or questions?
[17:15:36] <thiago> not from me
[17:15:49] <jaheikki3> Ok, then Qt 5.12.10 status
[17:15:59] <jaheikki3> Release preparations not started yet
[17:16:06] <jaheikki3> Target is to start preparations now
[17:16:55] <carewolf> ok, I guess we need updated changes files soon
[17:17:10] <jaheikki3> Yes, that's true
[17:17:27] <jaheikki3> let's start branching from 5.12 to 5.12.10 now & create initial changes files immediately
[17:17:59] <jaheikki3> And we will also create a snapshot for testing to see if all is already ok for the release
[17:18:06] <thiago> target release date?
[17:18:43] <jaheikki3> Last time we set it to 20th October but most probably it will be too early
[17:19:29] <carewolf> 23th? Should be too heavy
[17:19:29] <jaheikki3> But let's try to get the release out during October; it shouldn't be that hard to get it out at this phase of Qt 5.12 LTS
[17:19:33] <carewolf> shouldn't
[17:19:40] <carewolf> ok
[17:20:23] <jaheikki3> Lets' target 27th; there should be enought time to finalize release for that
[17:21:03] <jaheikki3> That's all about 5.12.10 at this time
[17:21:12] <jaheikki3> Any more comments or questions?
[17:22:53] <carewolf> can you allow us to branch ourselves in qtwebengine for 5.12.10?
[17:23:06] <carewolf> We are already working on the changes file as well
[17:24:35] <jaheikki3> Hmm, I am not sure how scripts will handle that so would be best to do it by branching scripts
[17:24:53] <carewolf> ok, we can deal with it.
[17:25:08] <jaheikki3> carewolf: great, i'll do branching tomorrow morning
[17:25:35] <jaheikki3> Ok, it was all at this time so let's end this meeting now & have new one tue 20th October at this same time
[17:25:47] <jaheikki3> Thanks for your participation, bye!
[17:25:52] <carewolf> bye
