irc log below:
[17:01:10] <jaheikki3> ablasche: carewolf. lars_:mapaaso: thiago:vladimir-minenko:akseli: ping
[17:02:16] <thiago> jaheikki3: pong
[17:03:21] <jaheikki3> time to start qt release team meeting
[17:03:26] <jaheikki3> On agenda today
[17:03:29] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.3 status
[17:03:33] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.4 status
[17:03:42] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:03:46] <carewolf> pong
[17:04:11] <carewolf> time frame for 6.2.5 unless that was determined last week?
[17:05:08] <jaheikki3> carewolf: Ok, let's discuss 6.2.5 commercial LTS plan as well
[17:05:24] <jaheikki3> But let's start from Qt 6.3 status
[17:06:08] <jaheikki3> It seems Qt 6.3.0 was quite good release and nothing that severe reported so far
[17:06:38] <jaheikki3> So I have replanned the Qt 6.3 patch level release schedule
[17:07:23] <thiago> and what is it?
[17:07:28] <The-Compiler> I can confirm that from what I see with my project (qutebrowser) for QtWebEngine. Often I see major things to adjust or workaround with QtWebEnigne/Chromium upgrades, but 6.3 (and also 5.15 -> 6.2, other than lots of intened changes) was smooth sailing so far - th
[17:07:32] <The-Compiler> *thanks!
[17:07:40] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.3.1 will be released June 2022, 6.3.2 August 2022 and possible Qt 6.3.3 September 2022
[17:08:08] <jaheikki3> The-Compiler: Great to hear, thanks!
[17:09:21] <jaheikki3> With that updated plan we can get quite reqular releases for 6.3 without too log summer break.
[17:09:47] <jaheikki3> And also balance release team work load with all other releases
[17:10:20] <jaheikki3> But actually that was all about Qt 6.3 status at this time. Any comments or questions?
[17:11:00] <The-Compiler> the obvious complaint from my side would be a longer time to get Chromium security fixes out to QtWebEngine users, but I still officially don't support Qt 6 (on it), so I can't really say much
[17:12:18] <jaheikki3> The-Compiler: yeah, I understand
[17:13:33] <jaheikki3> Ok, then Qt 6.4 status
[17:14:11] <jaheikki3> First Qt 6.4 snapshot from dev published
[17:14:40] <jaheikki3> Automation turned on and snapshot will be updated automatically always when dependency update round succeed in dev
[17:15:37] <vladimir-minenko> ops... I'm late.. sorry...
[17:16:37] <jaheikki3> Module and platfor freeze will be in effect May 20th so it is time to start updating new features, modules etc in https://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qtdoc.git/tree/doc/src/whatsnew/whatsnew64.qdoc
[17:17:13] <jaheikki3> That's pretty much all about Qt 6.4 status at this time. ANy comments or questions?
[17:18:58] <jaheikki3> Then Qt 6.2.5 Commercial LTS status
[17:19:53] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.2.5 release preparations started
[17:20:13] <jaheikki3> But there is some issues with building Qt from commercial only repositories
[17:20:21] <jaheikki3> Fixing ongoing
[17:20:41] <carewolf> are you building with qtwebengine 6.3.0/6.3 branch?
[17:20:46] <jaheikki3> Target is to get Qt 6.2.5 Commercial LTS out during May
[17:21:11] <jaheikki3> carewolf: Ahh, not yet. I totally forgot that
[17:21:32] <jaheikki3> carewolf: I'll make a patch for that
[17:21:36] <carewolf> great
[17:22:12] <jaheikki3> But that's all about Qt 6.2.5 at this time. Any more comments or questions?
[17:23:53] <vladimir-minenko> no, thanks... but I still see some risks for a few new features with the new deadline on the 20th... I hope it works well...
[17:25:13] <jaheikki3> vladimir-minenko: Yeah, there is always risks with deadlines :D And that new one is just for modules and platform changes. Let's see how well that will work and will it cause the benefits we are hoping to get
[17:25:41] <jaheikki3> Bu this was all at this time. Let's skip next week & have new meeting tue 17th May at this same time
[17:25:50] <jaheikki3> Thanks for your participation, bye!
[17:26:06] <carewolf> bye
