In short, my question is who and how decides on the documentation format on the Qt-project.org webpage? I found some traits of previous Qt versions docs interesting and providing better readability (such as class members and methods in a table, with folding and hyperlinks to source code in version 4.7). Is this a matter of decisions in a close inner group or is it possible for the public to influence it? I know this is only my opinion, but I can also imagine that other people might think the same - just wanted to do a check-up on possibilities. I clearly remember when that "new format" was shipped for 4.8 docs and caused an uproar, so the format was reverted to the old one. While probably more nice to see, the new format has a bunch of (so far) unresolved issues: - it relies on a ton JS code which slows down page loading - it makes users unable to use CTRL+F to search in the page contents - probably something else I forgot ... Some tags require merging, some others require discussion. I would also like to ask a few questions, some of which are posted here: http://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/28213/#128189 . This assuming, of course, that tagging is still developed and needed (the topic does not garner much attention, frankly). I don't see much of a reason to block https crawling, on the other hand I doubt that's what's causing bad results for google searches. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The tags have been pretty neglected for long so I’m happy to see someone doing something for them :) But I’m not sure if getting so much points from tagging is really good in general, since it pretty much makes tagging the most easy way to get points. And it’s very hard to monitor between good and bad tag, when everyone can invent new tags (re: Fricking QClassName at wiki/documentation search mistake). To be honest, although Alek does indeed seem to be on a points-bonanza, his actual posts, although maybe not numerous, are in general of high quality: well written and helpful. Just my general impression, mind you.
