Sure, mplayer, mpd and /many/ other command line based multimedia
applications use that... With your thinking, there is almost no need
for things like kdecore since almost any kde applications are UI
based...

Well, you can ignore our sayings, and you can force *everybody* to
depend on GUI, even for command line applications. No comment from
here, if you think this is an acceptable design for the Qt framework.
Also, QPoint, QLine and others are so much used in command line
applications...
