I just noticed this thread could be confusing for some, so I'd like to clarify:

The initial email (today) contained arguments straight from the
Qt-Components list discussion. So those were new to this list (not in
the december thread) but unchanged from a month ago on the components
list.

Those not keen on trying to weave in the threads across both lists
should just reply to the initial email and forget the rest...
