I agree.

Our resources are limited, so having the process above (which is quite simple) 
should suffice for builds we host.

For builds we do not host, such as Aleksey's MinGW builds, I propose we simply 
list them in the downloads page and link directly. We should do that for Linux 
distribution packages too.
