Indeed, applications wouldn't be able to depend on the new feature because 
"qdbus" would be the old, Qt 4 version.

Which is why I think the solution of having some binaries be declared "user 
applications" and the other "non-user-facing tools" was superior. But it's not 
the solution we went for.
