Sorry, Nikolai, but WTF are you talking about?
What does having to be connected have to do with anything? Previously, you
didn't need a password to download, now you do. Either way, to *download* you
need to be connected to the Internet.
If the VM isn't connected, then it assumes it is getting the files from
somewhere else, like a network share or the host machine. Why can't you
download there and then copy over the same way you do today? Use the password
to download the binary from another machine, then copy over.
And if you can get files there, you can get a small .txt file with the
password there.
