Hi,

We have gotten review of the modules with larger number of changes progressing well, but a few modules are still without comments.

With the Alpha out and Beta 1 soon ready to be released it is time to complete the API review so that we have the agreement upon what to do before release of Qt 6.2.0.

Yours,

                Tuukka

Subject: [Development] API Change Review for 6.2
Hello everyone!

In accordance to QUIP-10 (http://quips-qt-io.herokuapp.com/quip-0010-API-review.html), it is again time for a review of the changes to the public API from 5.15 and 6.1 to 6.2. As you may know, a fair number of modules were reintroduced in 6.2 from 5.15 and were adjusted quite a bit. One notable omission from the review round is qtmultimedia, which was thoroughly reworked and hence subject to a separate review process (ref. Lars).

Relevant Jira: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-94407
Changes: https://codereview.qt-project.org/q/topic:%22api-change-review-6.2%22+(status:open%20OR%20status:abandoned)
All modules in 6.2: https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_6.2.0_Modules

The most important changes are as usual qtbase and qtdeclarative.

Do also note the 6.2 release plan, as this should be completed in a timely manner: https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_6.2_Release

A fair number of modules had no interesting changes from 6.1, so they have no Gerrit change at all. If you have any questions about any of the changes, let me know.

Cheers,

David Skoland
