[Development] Missing +2 - Feature freeze exception useful?

Hi all,

we would be grateful for help regarding the following changes:

Feature freeze is near and we got positive feedback and also +1.
But it looks like no one feels responsible to give +2.
We have taken all the comments into account but cannot see what is
still missing.

We are also concerned that the second change requires a dependency
update after the first was merged. Do we need a feature freeze
exception?
