That's a very old project that relies on Qt extensions that I couldn't find (QSingleApplication).
It's not too hard to implement a classic Cocoa-Doc style app with Qt although it's still harder than it should be.
For example, I found this sample document-based app using Qt. It does not use NSDocument but it should not be particularly hard to modify it so that it does.
