Be aware of the OpenGL ES 1.x and 2 differences. If at all possible please use 
ES 2 as this is much closer to modern desktop OpenGL and will also be more 
maintainable in the future. It does however mean learning about buffer objects 
(vertex buffer objects (VBOs) and maybe index buffers (IBOs)) as well as 
shaders.

Think of OpenGL ES 2 as approximately equivalent to OpenGL 2 without all of 
the old fixed functionality stuff that was deprecated in OpenGL 3.1.
