Ah, I see. You're right, René. That does produce a systray icon. I missed
it in the case of my application, I guess, because I was fixated on the
presence of the application icon in the dock--my application has a different
icon than the one set by the Python script in the systray. Even closing the
application window (in the systray example) keeps that dock icon around.
Given that, is it possible to remove the dock icon while the application is
running hidden with only a systray presence? My application is not
interactable, and I don't want the user being able to do so with the dock icon.
