In fairness, how many of those competing products are LGPL licensed?

That said, it is rather... disingenuous that the very same people that
would be coming after you w.r.t. license violations can't (or *won't*)
tell you under what conditions might do so, but instead tell you to ask
*your own* lawyer to predict *their* actions.
