[Interest] Bluring the composited background for a menu

It seems it's all the rage these days: Providing a menu whose background is the result of something below it, blurred, then its own content layered on top.I have a Menu item above the rest of the app, with a cyan background. Attempting to use blur only blurs the cyan (no change), the text below it (from Application window) is not blurred.


How can I blur the menu background in QML?
