You are certainly correct in thinking that I was trying a 64bit OS, I was
using Ubuntu 16.04 on a VM.
I have to agree with your statement as I certainly dislike the lack of patch
level of the host OS used for the build environment, this statement is also
true for the Qtbase version branch to download (which is either the 5.10 or
dev).
I will certainly try your suggestion of using an older 32-bit system and
will post the results. I’ll read up on the PostgreSQL message thread, to
cover some other possible mistakes.
My plan if successful is to create another blog with 100% clear and
understandable build instructions to help others, so they won’t have to
waste day’s trying to figure this find.
