in KDE, the mix of:
* News web called Dot, with a group of editors and 
collecting/editing/publishing procedures: http://dot.kde.org
* Planet KDE: http://planetkde.org/ with some nice features to visualize 
twitter accounts, for example plus planets in different languages 
(http://planetkde.org/es/ for example)

work very well so far for promo purposes.
