Hi all -
ATM, Digia is short on resources to send someone onsite to FOSDEM as it was not in our preliminary budget and planning. BUT, we can produce and send collateral, Qt banners etc and help coordinate. Let me look into some things on our side (some folks out on holiday) and we will get back on how else we can help and if we swing sending someone onsite. Get back to you shortly!
Thanks, Sivan, for organizing thus far.

Subject: Re: [Marketing] FOSDEM Qt Stand manning
Ash, thank you for you generous offer to help! Now back to some less easy things, as of now it does not seem as I'd be able to attend (due to financial reasons, unfortunate, but this is life at the moment) and so I'd like to ask who can take ownership of this? This naturally means, replacing me as the person of contact with FOSDEM people, taking care of setup / teardown of the booth, finding someone with working laptop and perhaps some recent Android devices , and perhaps even showing off an iOS device running a Qt5 app, but also BB would be cool. (As a hash lesson learned, I'd like to show off to app developers and these are the platforms that matter the most).
Who is in a position to do this? As we're in January already I'd like to get this rolling? Again, calling Digia as the main sponsor of Qt right now - can you guys help us have a presence in FOSDEM?
Your advice, and contribution shall be immensely appreciated!

So, as requested by some KDE people here, I've got a confirmation from FOSDEM people that our stand will be next to the KDE stand. Any KDE people who are willing to sign up now to help with it? Is there anybody from Digia coming over that might be able to take ownership of this task in case I can't come?

Hi,
I think this event fits in well with what RIM would like to do and therefore I will hopefully join you onsite. I haven't attended FOSDEM before so I could do with an Intro to the logistics of everything ie who is the point person for us getting a banner onsite, size of booth etc.
I will hopefully get the sign off for this soon, but please feel free to send me any information that might be useful.
Who else wants in ?
Thanks
Ash

Hi All,
I just got this email from FOSDEM organizers:
"Hi Sivan,
I am pleased to inform you that your proposal for a stand at FOSDEM
2013 has been accepted. We have assigned one table to you.
..."
I'm wondering if there are interested parties out of the ecosystem to sponsor me to run and setup the stand? (I can't afford it myself).
Parallel to, I'd like to hear from people who are close as well to the project, able, willing and are already attending FOSDEM or are local to its location to either take ownership (if I can't come) and/or help me with the endeavor if I'm there?
>From my original stand proposal:
"We intend to show demos of latest qt5, one 4.8 and have talks and discussion related to documentation within Qt and recruiting more neutral community contributors."
So hopefully this stands runs regardless of my ability to be there or not, I'd like to know who has cool Qt5 / 4.8 apps that we can show off at FOSDEM ? And also ideas how to gather more non-corporate community (we're still very much lacking in that regard last time I checked) to contribute and push Qt forward.
Cheers and happy holidays,
