I might have answers for some of your questions.

I got warnings displayed on the Task List.

IMO since Qt Creator is Qt IDE it highlights Qt specyfic syntax as
well as standard C++. For example Carbide IDE does the same for
Symbian OS stuff (like "self" pointer).

It works for me (Linux IA32), everything is greyed out from 100
collumn to infinity.
