For me cmd+space is used by spotlight. It seems that the default for
both spotlight and the input menu is actually the cmd+space shortcut.
From Apple help "About the Input Menu":
"The keyboard shortcut to select the next input method in the Input
menu is Command-Space bar. Since Spotlight also uses this keyboard
shortcut, you should change either the Input menu shortcut or the
Spotlight shortcut."

Right, that one is bad. Also the default shortcut for the spaces
overview is F8...
