[Qt-creator] Creator on small screens

I've seen a lot of comments, both on this mailing list, in #qt, and even 
in my own observation on my old laptop, that Creator can be quite 
unpleasant on smaller screens. If you have less vertical space than 
about 650 pixels, the upper and lower sections of the left button bar 
overlap each other, and even at 1024x768 trying to use the embedded 
Designer leaves almost no room to work.

As I don't use Designer at all, I can't make too much in the way of 
suggestions about how it might be modified to work better, but the 
vertical space issue could be addressed by offering a "small icons" mode 
that would use smaller icons and/or remove the text from the buttons.
