Just not to sound always so negative, a positive proposal. :-)
If you don't want to use the right mouse button to open a context meny,
which might not be best choice for some osses.

What about an icon right to the link? 
link session1   (xxx)
link session2   (xxx)
....

Mouseover trigger only on (xxx). This would allow to move the mouse
pointer up and down the link list itself, without being interrupted by unwanted
popups. the (xxx) column could show the same behaviour as it is
implemented now.
