I think I've found what I was looking for:

the example is quite clear and I'm creating a QML/C++ example project wizard.
I would like also to create something similar to the "Qt Quick 2 UI".
I've given a look at this folder containing all the custom templates:
/share/qtcreator/templates/wizards
but "Qt Quick 2 UI" templates is not available there. Where can I find it?

for the moment I will try to avoid modifying the code or creating a
plugin: manually configuring a device, a kit and creating a project
wizard is all that I need.
Anyway I will try to fit everything in a new plugin if I should need
more customization.
