Sorry I don't understand.

If a patch is provided which does the right thing, are you going to reject 
it for being a 'duplicate solution'? 

To be clear, I'm not suggesting that it would actually be a 'duplicate 
solution', only asking if that would be your justification for rejecting the 
patch.
