Excellent! I'm going to make certain that all my emails to you will be
in Comic Sans MS font, 40pt, Bold, Underline, Italic and a mixture of
bright red and bright green/yellow colour.

The point is that HTML emails introduce non-uniformity in threads
where people start to use different colours and fonts and sizes. I've
seen people do it..
I would think also that plain text probably renders code better as
long as the email client uses fixed-width font.

Lets not confuse being an idiot or being malicious with HTML vs Plain
Text...
First, if someone posted in bright green (and I realize you were being
sarcastic...) I would simply ignore, delete and move on...
Second, to the point about security... It would simply get blocked by my
firewall and never show up at my desk :) I understand that point... but
by that theory.. we should ban all attachments completely.
