How does your firewall help with prevention of malicious html? Can it
magically detect the difference between malicious/non-malicious html? OK your
spam filter might be able to make a good attempt at it - but not everybody has
one (or a well-configured one).
For example a well placed web bug in an email to the list which then gets read
by the subscribers in an email client that does not prevent automatic access
to external references could be used to get information about list subscribers
(ip addresses, time and times of reading etc.) This partially bypasses the
list security.
