Thats actually normal and considered good behaviour :) Proper email clients
support a special list-reply mode in which they reply only to the list
(some clients don't even need configuration for that as they understand
some of the special mailinglist-headers that mailinglists set). Thunderbird
does have support for list-reply, but IIRC its an extension instead of
being built into the code.
For more information on why setting Reply-To to the list is not good,
google for "Reply-To considered harmful".
