Why is a circular buffer (an abstract data type) a widget?

Also why is it a thread?

I could understand a thread *using* a circular buffer, but a thread
would not *be* a circular buffer. Unless I am missing something...

(anyone care to devise a method of "drawing" UML using ascii art? ;)  )
